You found a baby squirrel, and now need information on how to care for it. You're about to experience one of the most rewarding activities on earth!

The ideal situation would be to return the baby to it's mother. If you place it in a small box with a warm rice bag, and tack it to the tree where you found it, it's possible that mom will come and take it back to an alternate nest. If the mother doesn't come within an hour, the baby becomes your charge.

Relax, caring for baby squirrels is easy! If you don't have the time or will to do it, every State has licensed wild animal rehabilitators who can do the job. If you do have the time and can remember the acronym, "WHAM," you can easily and confidently care for a baby squirrel!

The letter W, stands for warm. Baby squirrels need to be kept warm. You never should attempt to feed a baby until it is completely warmed. A baby squirrel should always feel warm the the touch when you pick it up. When the baby is less than 5 weeks old, (before it's eyes open,) it can easily be kept in a cardboard box. I like to use rice bags to keep my baby squirrels warm. I heat the bag in the microwave until it is warm to the touch, place it in the box, punch it down in the center to make a nest, place pieces of blanket or fleece material over the bag, put the baby squirrel in and cover it with more soft cloth. This method keeps the baby warm between feedings.

Some people like to use a heating pad on the low setting under the box. If it's placed under half of the box, the baby squirrel will climb on and off the heated side until it finds a comfortable sleeping temperature. Either way, this accomplishes the task of keeping the baby squirrel warm.

The need for calcium, especially in captivity, is one of the most critical aspects of raising a squirrel. In fact, it is the most important factor in success or failure when it comes to raising a baby squirrel! If a baby squirrel does not have an adequate source of calcium after it stops nursing, it will develop a condition called Metabolic Bone Disease, or Rickets. I don't know how many times I've gotten e-mails from panicked people telling me their 5 or 6 month old squirrel was fine one day and the next day lost the use of it's rear legs. It happens that fast, and is completely preventable!

There are many more details about how to take care of a baby squirrel, that are beyond the scope of this article. My desire is to help you take the right first steps in this rewarding endeavor, and to let you know that I am always available to help and answer any and all questions about the care of a baby squirrel! On my website I offer free recipes, advice and e-books at no charge to help you successfully raise a healthy and happy squirrel!

Squirrels are one of the cute animals that look good while roaming about. At the same time when they cause us a lot of loss and to our vegetable gardens too due to which we want to get them out of our sight. This is a famous problem and needs to be dealt very carefully in all respects. Let us discuss how one can plan a pest control plan to get rid of these squirrels.

First of all, the food on which they feed is to be removed from the gardens. It is one of the possibilities that they might be attracted towards various berries. If you remove these attracted pieces of food then they will stop coming into your garden. Earlier, people used to use moth balls to keep these squirrels away as pest control.Squirrels don't like the smell of the moths and they tend to move away from this odor. Even today many people believe in this method of running the squirrels away. Other repellents can be bought too if you do not find the method of moth balls effective enough to get the desired results. These repellents include things made of their natural predators like foxes. Moreover, it is also said that human hair scattered are also enough to scare these squirrels away.

These are some of the ways to control the movement of the squirrels in your yard or garden. If all these methods make you fail in getting rid of them then you must call a professional pest control company to help you out in this situation. They know very well that how to use the pesticides in the best way to eliminate these squirrels in minimum time. Moreover, they know which chemical must be used in a way that it would not prove to be toxic for the humans.

Bat control specialists are all over the place. Home remedies and self-made plans for bat removal are rarely effective, which is why these companies are so easy to find. They understand the seriousness of getting rid of bats, and they know that people cannot mediate the situation on their own. Therefore, they will come into your home, inspect the problem, and work with you to devise a solution that best suits your particular needs.

Probably the best thing about bat control is that it is different for every person, and these removal experts understand that. There is no one uniform solution to take care of bat problems, and you can't just give everyone the same exact plan. Your problem, the number of bats that you have, and the number of entry points or the locations of them will greatly impact the removal of those bats. If you've already tried to solve the problem on your own by sealing up the gaps and cracks that you could find, a removal company will likely need to find new places to let the bats out.

Bat control specialists will usually devise a humane plan to let the bats leave your home, but then put little devices into place that work like one way doors. That way, the bats can leave to get food, but when they return, they aren't able to get in anymore. They'll go off to find a new home, and after a few days or a week, the holes will all be sealed for good. Before the problem is considered solved, though, another inspection will be done to make sure all of the bats are gone. Then, exclusion plans will begin, which generally involves sealing cracks and holes and making your home impenetrable to uninvited guests.

The final step of a bat control specialist will be to clean up the guano that is left behind. If not cleaned up, bat guano can be toxic to your family even just by breathing the air in your home. That's why professional cleanup is recommended for all bat guano problems. Proper chemicals and cleaning processes will ensure that all bacteria are eliminated, leaving your home safer and healthier so that your family isn't at risk. This is what you can expect from a bat control service, and you should call them as soon as you realize that you have bat problems to have the situation resolved quickly and effectively.
