One of the newest and most innovative Tea Rooms in Michigan, the Franklin Village Tea Room is a reprisal of the original Tea Room located in the historic district of the Village of Franklin. Set in this historic town, which was built by the early settlers from New York and Massachusetts, in the 1840's, the Village of Franklin celebrated the opening of its first Franklin Village Tea Room in 1975. Closed for more than two decades, Kathi Russell has opened one of the most elegantly beautiful Tea Rooms in the country.

Decorated with lush florals and balloon shades, and adorning her tables with some of the most beautiful English china that can be found, this Tea Room is breathtaking for all those who visit. Beautiful, white linen tablecloths on English round tables with white chairs makes this Tea Room sparkle. The menu includes a variety of teas, sandwiches, scones, and desserts. Hosting a number of special events in the Franklin Village Tea Room including Bridal Shower Teas, Baby Shower Teas, Birthday Celebrations, Red Hat Ladies Teas, as well as entertaining and educational Children's Tea Parties!

While on your Walking Tour of Franklin, be sure to stop at the Village Jeweler, Frank Yanke Design, and see his latest creation of the Franklin Village Charm Bracelet. Beautiful charms depicting the most historic landmarks in the Village. See his beautiful new charm of the Snow House, and listen as he describes how the design of each charm goes from a photograph, to the wax mold, to the metallurgist, to the bracelet. See his collection of necklaces, pins and bracelets, as well as his most beautiful custom designed jewelry.

I've written a few posts and even created a video about amenities in Troy like churches and school districts. In this post I thought I'd touch on some of the other fun things that Troy has to offer. After all, many of these items really make it worth owning a Troy Michigan home.

SHOPPING

Anyone who has driven down Troy's Big Beaver corridor is familiar with the spectacular sight of Somerset Mall. The mall stretches across Big Beaver and is connected by an elevated walkway that connects the North and South sections. In addition to its upscale anchor stores (Nieman Markus, Saks, Macy's, and Nordstrom), Somerset's smaller stores undoubtedly combine to make up the highest-end shopping available in Michigan.

If you're looking to buy a home or a condo in an area that has a lot of entertainment value to it, Troy Michigan is a great place to start.
